The guilt of taking

What am I supposed to do, he asked.

Diana replied, “Do whatever you can, and however you can.”

“But after studying, and then failing, I have already spent so much of their money. How can I ask them to put money on me again.”

Diana thought for a while. She said, “Well, just make sure this time you are strong. Finish your studies gracefully and earn that money back. Earn even more, so you can repay the debt that you think you have.”

“What do you mean ‘you think you have’, I have a debt to repay, of course.”

Diana laughed and said, “Do you really think that parents will spend on you just to make sure that you repay them in the future. They just want you to be better and have a secure future, whether doing business or a job. They don’t want your money back, they just want your happiness.”

“Yes, I know that thinking. But the problem is that I can’t think like that. Every time I use their money, I feel guilty because I am not earning anything by myself.”

“That’s what I am saying. Become that capable as to earn enough, and pay them back. Make their lives comfortable like the way made it comfortable for you.” , saying this Diana smiled.

“Yes, you are right. I wish it were easier. I really am stupid when it comes to affection.”

Diana replied, “Oh, Is that so? So no affection for me either?”

“Shut up stupid. You are my everything. If it wasn’t for you, I might not have been able to make this far. So don’t say stuff like that.”

Diana giggled and said, “I know”. She came closer and kissed him on the lips for ten seconds. Then she pushed him away and told him to go to work.

He smiled, looked Diana in the eyes and said, “Thank You.”

What you can really do is make good use of what you are getting from someone, and when the time is right, give something back in return. This is the way of life, this should be the way of life.
