According to an UN report published Wednesday, Israel is being accused of imposing apartheid regime of racial discriminiation on the Palestinian people.
Although UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told the reporters that the report was published without the prior consultation of the UN secretariat, the report was published by UN Economical and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), and the report is said to have been published at the request of member states.
ESCWA comprises 18 Arab states in Western Asia and aims to support economic and social development in member states, according to its website.
Richard Falk, the author of the report, is a formed UN human rights investigator for the Palestinian territories and has often criticized Israelis for showing unacceptable characteristics of colonialism, apartheid and ethnic cleansing.
