The President of India is not often seen praising a politician as his position demands neutrality, however on Friday the President praised PM Narendra Modi in his own style.
Present Prime Minister Narendra Modi has his own way of doing things. We must give credit to him. He is a quick learner. He has picked up quickly from being the head of a fereal state to lead the nation by mastering over foreign relations, external economy and internal factors.
President Mukherjee, who is set to retire from active politics in a few months when his tenure comes to an end said that five of the most influential PM were Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi.
He also critized the lessening number of sittings and bills being passed in the Lok Sabha, comparing a number of 677 sittings and 319 bills in the 1952-57 term, to the 357 sittings and 181 bills in the most recent term. He also showed concern on the increasing budget, the latest being 17 lakh crore, and yet the government not adequately utilising it.
