When even riding a bike was tough

The leg staggered as the body moved with the help of the crutches. It was so hard, just lifting the leg felt like a challenging task.

It was in the gym. The trainer had told him to lift a few shoulder weights and then he had commented, “Okay. Stop. Let’s do legs today. It’s leg day.”

I had shockingly looked at him as if I hadn’t heard what he had just said.

The trainer repeated, “C’mon. Get up. It is legs day. Let’s get going.”

Even though I knew what I was getting myself into, I stood up and began the workout.

And now this was the result? All the way those legs felt heavy. I even had to call an uber instead of taking the bike as usual.

And now, “how was I supposed to go to work?”
