Leaders at Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) praised the results of the One Belt and One Road initiative, however they clarified that the project should be based on mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit. They also noted that granting full SCO membership to India and Pakistan will help facilitate further development of SCO.

The declaration also asked to adhere strictly to the goals and principles of UN Charter, which, if followed, will work to the advantage of New Delhi, who till now has been wary of the initiative as it will be passing through Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) (Indian land claimed forcibly by Pakistan).

India’s long standing agenda, Combating terrorism, was also stressed as a key point in SCO, and the work towards the adoption of the UN Comprehensive Convention on Combating International Terrorism will be acknowledged.

#MiddleEast #politics #US #Trump #Qatar #SaudiArabia #international #trade

Countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties with the neighbor Qatar, going as far as ordering its diplomats and citizens to leave and threatening deeply intertwined regional trade links and air routes.

Trump, as he is, tweeted that During my recent trip to the Middle East, I stated that there can no longer be funding of Radical Ideology. Leaders pointed to Qatar – look! In another tweet, he mentioned So good to see the Saudi Arabia visit with the King and 50 countries already paying off. They said they would take a hard line on funding extremism, and all reference was pointing to Qatar.

This comes when US has a base located in Qatar, with as many as 10,000 US personnel there.

Also, during the trip to Middle East last month, it was known that Trump personally met with Qatari emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani, and said, “We are friends. We’ve been friends now for a long time…. Our relationship is extremely good.”

This is embarrassing, even for the United States. US, is considered at the top of the chain, and involving itself in such tweets & criticizing is nothing but degrading to the country’s reputation. Trump should understand that, now he not only the leader of his Trump Organization, but rather a leader for the whole country and it’s people.

Amazing Cricket!

India made a whooping 319/3 in 48 overs. Pak needs to chase the target to win, which seems a tough score to catch up to. However, the field is still a bit damp, so the ball might skid and run off for boundaries. This will get interesting.

However, that was done amazing batting by India, four half ventures out of which two were above 80! The first three deliveries of the last over were all 6! Team India 🇮🇳

US tests unarmed ballistic missile

#US #NorthKorea #missile #testlaunch #international #Minuteman3

An unarmed Minuteman 3 intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California at 12:03 am. The test launch delivered a single re-entry vehicle to a target approximately 6,579 kms in the Pacific Ocean. Such tests are conducted regularly but the timing of the launch this time, while US has been warning North Korea for it’s test launches, has been criticized strongly.

What is needed is diplomacy rather than military provocations. Threats, whether in the form of tweets, nuclear-capable missile launches, only increase the dangers.

The previous test-launch for Minutemman 3 missile was in early February.

The commentary was carried on page three of the newspaper, after a two-page feature about leader Kim Jong Un inspecting pig farm.

North Korea also detained a man named Tony Kim, a US citizen who has been in North Korea for a month teaching accounting at the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology according to the institution’s chancellor Chan-Mo Park. Tony was arrested at Pyongyang International Airport on his way out of the country.

#India #Afghanistan #US #NSA #McMaster #war #international

The 10-day regional tour of Asia for National Security Adviser HR McMaster also includes Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. The use of the 22,000 pounds non-nuclear bomb by US in Afghanistan shows that the war is about to be intensified, both militarily and politically, hence, the United States wants to keep all the countries in the same page regarding the matter.

McMaster is taked with the mission to assess whether the current stalemate in the Afghan war, which is working to the advantage of the Taliban, can be broken, and if so, what needs to be done.

Baloch leaders condemn Jadhav’s execution

#Balochistan #Pakistan #KulbhushanJadhav #UN #international #BJP #Modi #India

Baloch Republican Party (BRP) member Ashraf Sherjan commented that Kulbhushan Jadhav’s death sentence was ‘inhuman and illegal’. He also urged Prime Minister of India to do everything to save Jadhav’s life. He also said that Pakistan should bring Jadhav to the international court if he is guilty and connected to any terrorism in Balochistan. A country by itself shouldn’t have any right to give death sentences to foreign citizens.

The representative of Balochistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) Mehran Marri called the death sentence given to Jadhav as ‘extra judicial killing’ and a ‘premeditated murder’.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy has said that if Pakistan follows through such an execution, India will recognise Balochistan as an independent sovereign country. Balochistan is one of the four provinces of Pakistan. Although it makes 44 percent of the Pakistan by land, it has only 7 percent of the population of the country. It has been fighting to be separated from Pakistan since decades, mainly because Pakistani soldiers often exploit the land and people of the area, but no country in the world has come forward to support it’s cause.

Indian Extarnal Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, issued a stern warning to Pakistan that if the plan is carried forward by Pakistan, it will result in damaging bilateral relations and India will go out of the way to save Jadhav.

I don’t even have any comments on this. What is Pakistan exactly trying to do here.
