Change

Everyone I see has a story,
Whether big ones or small;
Some are lost in the way of life,
And some enjoy with us all.

So I met a person, who is the latter,
While I live being the former;
A person who enjoys helping,
And one who speaks up for the right.

I would rather stay away from this,
People are an annoyance, fake shine;
But when you look at this person,
You can’t stop changing this time.

Someone who gives, and donates,
Tries his best to work all year round;
Yet more interested he is to share,
All the rewards with people around.

I wonder if that’s how it is,
Is it something I can easily do;
Because the smiles and wishes,
Always multiplies happiness by two.

Thinking this, and much more,
A little lost though with a goal;
I go around all the time, and,
Write the perfect poem for my soul.

Lazy Writer.

Today has been so lazy. I didn’t do anything productive or completed a worthwhile task. I didn’t even feel like typing all this, but it needs to be done, so I dragged myself to write this script”, said an exhausted writer to his secretary.

“Why are you like this today? What did you do all day that you are so tired? I want to know”, the secretary asked wondering what the reason could be.

“What did I do? Well I went and studied for a couple of hours, talked to a couple of managers regarding the production and then…well…”, said the writer as he recalled his activities for the day.

“Well…?”, questioned the secretary curiously.

“Well then I played about four hours of game. And it got me mentally tired because I had to repeat a rank because of a couple of stupid mistakes. I mean, why? People aren’t playing good and then we have to suffer as a group. A team needs to work together and in a disciplined way to attain victory”, the annoyed writer spoke.

The secretary smiled after hearing this. “I suppose you can act normal as well at times. And yes, mistakes are stupid. Even worse are cases when you get dragged down by others not performing well. That happens all the time and no one can control the actions of another person. That’s just how it is. So you need to deal with it, no other way around”, explained the secretary calmly.

“You are correct. I don’t play much, but for some reason I played for four continuous hours today, probably because I wanted to win after those bad matches. And yet, I couldn’t catch a single victory today”, chuckled the writer as he spoke about his own loss.

“And anyway you shouldn’t play this much. Focus on writing something better for next time instead of wasting time like this. You need to get back to your senses”, scolded the secretary.

“Fine, you don’t have to tell me like that. It was just today, a spur of the moment if I might say, it won’t happen again. I am already thinking of the book I was planning to write, and thanks to the games, I finally got an idea of what could I include in that book”, said the writer proudly, “It will be about this world, and the games we all play with each other.”

The sights to freedom – 2

“Shine bright. Live brighter, even if the sky is clouded.”

It has been a tough day for Seko. He didn’t get up on time, didn’t follow the schedule and later on in the day he was so de-motivated that he just went to sleep. This was Day #1 and he acted like a kid who didn’t have a goal.

He didn’t do any exercise, or review his stock holdings or read news. At least he did try to manage what business he has at present, by really, was this enough?

The next day after he woke up, he checked the time and then cried in his mind for the lack of motivation and thoughts of failure lurking in his mind. What is the right path? Is there one?

“It will be okay. I will follow everything slowly and get where I want to. It takes time, it will not happen in an instant”, he said to himself while looking at the bathroom mirror. He touched the mirror with his palm, as if trying to console his own self, “It will be okay. I will get better. I need to also realize what all did I do today, and how it affected anyone. I do hope I changed someone’s life for the better today.”

I am not giving up that easily. I will explore, learn, do more and become the best.

HBS on Strategic marketing

Journal #20

Day 20. April 2nd.

“Life is very interesting. In the end, some of your greatest pains become your greatest strengths.” – Drew Barrymore

Today was a decent day again. Woke up and meditated, did some yoga and then freelectics. It feels refreshing after that. I did also box (after a long time) for 5 minutes today just to get my body used to it. Think I can wake up half n hour earlier from tomorrow?

Then went to office, and met with a customer. It is hard to hear about all the issues that come up every now and then but it is a big relief when they are resolved. I suppose that is the essence of business, to have something going on now & then while fixing other issues. That’s how you gain experience.

I did get to finally open a axis bank account for trading today. Kudos to that!

Back home I went through some news articles, and then read the HBS book on Strategic Marketing. It is an interesting read for sure.

Discipline Equals Freedom

Book Review: Discipline Equals Freedom

Wake up. Plan. Just do it. – These are the words that come to your mind after reading this book. It is an aggressive but motivating book aimed at bringing out the best of you.

Many of us keep pondering over what we want to do, and some who do know – they keep planning for it. It is just useless unless the activities that you thought of are executed. People can think of high dreams but they only realize the intensity of effort needed when they start taking action.

During those days of action, all of us face the dilemma of not moving forward to the goal, not seeing any results. So what you do? Most of us – Give up. NO. That shouldn’t be. Always be persistent and keep at it whether you like it or not. And slowly and steadily, you will reach your goal.

If you need some serious motivation to get up and work, especially work out, then this is the book for you! It also includes a set of exercises, with equipment’s and stretching techniques, which some people might find useful.

Lastly as Mr. Jocko Willink has written:

Don’t just talk.
Don’t just think.
Don’t just dream.
No. None of that matters.
The only thing that matters is that you actually do.
So:
DO.

Journal #18

Day 18. March 31st.

“I didn’t get there by wishing for it or hoping for it, but by working for it.” – Estee Lauder

Today are multiple events! It is the last day of the month, It is a Sunday, It is the last day of the Financial Year 2018-19, and it is also the last day of practice of the farewell dance for college seniors (no seriously).

And yet, the fact that it was a Sunday covered up any of the other events. After waking up, meditated, then yoga and also freelectics. Finally some freelectics is back! Read a few news articles and then continued to read the book Discipline equals freedom (almost done with the book!)

There were a couple of relatives who came to have lunch, it feels just different when you are surrounded with people and talk about random things.

Then there is the IPL2019 (Indian Premier League) that was coming, so watched the match. Quite frankly in many games these days you can’t predict who will win the match. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) played amazingly well today!

In the evening, went for a drive. It is always so relaxing to have some alone time and think nothing. This is one of the best feelings of the day.

On the bright side, I feel this Sunday proved more productive than any of the Sundays this year. This is a record!!
