Airport named after Christiano Ronaldo!

Christiano Ronaldo said that he felt very happy and honoured while attending the tribute laid on by his home town. The island changed the name of the airport from Madeira Airport to Christiano Ronaldo Madeira International Airport.

Ronaldo told the people attending the event that he knew that some people didn’t support the decision for the name change, but he will always endeavour to bring respect for Portugal and especially Madeira.

Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez said that the decision to rename the airport in honor of Christiano Ronaldo implicates responsibility, but inspires confidence.

I would like to say that he deserved it, he has been an amazing footballer and still continues to inspire millions. Heck, even I tried to learn soccer watching his videos (until I figured I am not cut out for the sport, I like tennis more 🙂 )

Ronaldo wins Fourth Ballon d’Or!

Cristiano Ronaldo has been rewarded the 1st prize in Ballon d’Or for the second time, one more than Lionel Messi. Lionel Messi won the 1st place in Ballon d’Or in 2009, 2nd place in 2008 and 2016 & 3rd place in 2007. Cristiano Ronaldo won the 1st place in Ballon d’Or in 2008 and 2016, & 2nd place in 2007 and 2009.

Ronaldo called it “a dream come true again” as he took his award on Monday. He won the Champions League for the second time in three seasons and then led Portugal to their first major Euro 2016 title.

Ronaldo’s, now 31, main rival is Lionel Messi, but the Barcelona and Argentine star had to relinquish the crown after a less-than-stellar year. Ronaldo was the firm favorite to win, having ousted Messi by a vote count of 745 to 316.

Denying any wrongdoings and to put aside the allegations, he published his financial records last week, showing he earned 227 million euros last year. “He who owes nothing, fears nothing”, claimed Ronaldo. He is currently the highest-paid sportsman in the world.
