A day of questions

Adam started:

I am turning 24 in a week, and lately I have been thinking all day about what do I want to do in life. Things are starting to clear up (or become more complex?) as I walk through this continuous flow of life, sometimes monotonous and at times surprising. At times I find myself staring up at the moon in the night, glowing so brightly while sometimes it is hidden by the clouds that shroud it.

As I keep on working in the company, learning new things and meaningful solutions, I often think if this is what I want to keep doing. What is it that I am looking for? No, I am not that good at blogging to get thousands of followers. Traveling needs money and I am not that interested in it. Although I would like to support people, I first need to develop the strength for the same. Yes I want to give that beggar in the street corner a thousand bucks, but will it be useful? Ultimately it would be spent on something other than knowledge, and to run a free education institution needs finance and dedication. What I am looking for is something more…

Something deep? With more meaning to myself?

We are all clinging to life, some of us barely. Probably the people around us make us do that. You binge from one series to another, go to pub often and yet find no solace. Maybe meditation can help. And yoga.

No matter where you are, the emptiness creeps in. But that’s not it. It comes with a need to do more. A want for something more. And there is no way to satisfy it. Not yet. So tire yourself out until the mind calms down, until it can’t think any more. Let the sleep filled with the dreams of the past shown in the future. Let it all go in the instance.

Sid replied:

And the next morning, have that morning cup of black coffee. Splash your face with water. And re-start. Re-vitalize. Return with that craving of something more.

The Basic question

When I think about you, life,
There are only two questions in my mind;
‘Why did I come to this place?’
‘And when and how will I find?

For I go through you everyday,
And life, you live in my veins;
The things I see, the words I hear,
You are in every single thing.

And as I think, there must be a reason,
An objective of me being here;
although the questions lingers on in mind,
The answer seems no where.

After a while a new question comes,
Should I be thinking about it like that?
Or should I just enjoy the time I have,
And leave the thinking to everyone else.

Live in the present, that is what they say,
But how you do a thing like that;
When you need money to struggle,
And be depicted as the earnest man.

So the question still remains there,
Floating by itself, like some ignored feather;
It is always present there in the wind,
And has no place to settle in this troubled weather.

Maybe I will try meditating a little,
For that is the best way to come up;
Ignore the worldly troubles for ten min,
And let the inner thoughts fill the cup.

You ask yourself?

#poem #you #mind #money #work #life #enjoy #questions

You ask yourself, Why not today,

The mind replies, Why today,

For tomorrow is there,

And there is the day after.

You ask yourself, Why not loan him money,

The mind replies, Why should I,

It might be a bad investment,

It doesn’t matter if he is family or friend.

You ask yourself, Why not cook today,

Why should I do that, The mind replies,

There are other people who do the job,

That’s why they have restaurants, and money.

You ask yourself, Why not rest today,

The mind replies, There is no time for rest,

You want money to survive, It’s never enough,

The luxuries you have, is because of ‘money’.

You ask yourself, Why not make friends,

The mind replies, You can’t spend time with friends,

Work is so busy, And work is earning,

If you work, You can attract any person.

You ask yourself, Why not live,

The mind replies, What do you mean,

I am living right now, Its work and earn,

That is what is living, right?

And You couldn’t reply.

Ask Questions and Share

Why? You ask? 😛

Well, you know. You get information when you ask.

You ask google so many questions, so many times in a single day, and yet you hesitate to ask half of that many questions to an actual person? Why is that? I agree that technology does help us out a lot and it might be a better solution for smaller questions like ‘How far is the moon from Earth’, historical facts, and more.

But can you ask google how to solve a problem you have? Maybe a life crisis? You will just end up getting articles/posts from different people preaching about life, but all those articles/posts are for the general crowd. And they can’t understand your specific situation, your particular problem.

Take the simplest of examples: Some of the college students hesitate to ask a question to the professor, and end up searching for solutions or the correct method on google or books. That’s a fine approach, but don’t you think if you just ask your professor he might be able to help you more quickly and even provide you an easier way to remember it. Maybe just think of how many souls you might be helping who don’t have the confidence to ask and are also stuck in the same problem.

At the same time, you need to limit your questions and not ask every single thing, else you will just come out to be dumb and irritating.

Another thing is, the person whom you ask the question feels happy and proud.

Just imagine the situation where your younger sibling asks you a question in one of the school subjects. Or when your parents ask you to help them out in using one of the gadgets. How do you feel then? Don’t you feel a bit of pride when you know that you know the solution to this. You feel happy that you know the solution and that you can share/teach someone else.

I suppose having a sense of pride is innate in every single human being. We all want to be acknowledged by others, and what better way but others themselves asking questions from us.

That’s all I can say. Feel free to add your thoughts to this! 🙂
