Two blasts, just five minutes apart, rocked the Jakarta’s Kampung Melayu terminal, killing three Indonesian police officers and injuring at least 10 people. The two blasts were carried out by two male suicide bombers, as confirmed after examining the scene.
Indonesia has suffered a series of mostly low-level attacks by Islamic State sympathizers in the last 17 months.
The explosives had been packed in pressure cookers, similar to that used by the lone attacker in Bandung in February.
Authorities believe that more than 400 Indonesian people have joined the IS group, and might pose a more lethal threat to the country.

People heard two loud bangs coming from the Manchester Arena’s bars at about 10:35 pm. As the Ariana Grande concert was going on, the explosions occurred sending people running towards the exit. As many as 19 people are believed to have been killed and more than 50 injured.
Ariana Grande, a teenage idol, was reported to be shocked and at a loss of words after the incident. She tweeted “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.” Let’s try to show our support to her, and ask her to not blame herself for any of this. Please.
US officials said that the attacks were similar to Bataclan concert hall in November 2015. The choice of venue, the timing and the mode of attack all suggest this was terrorism.
This is the second terror incident in UK this year, the first one happening in March when a man rammed a car into pedestrians on London’s Westminster Bridge killing four people.

This is so cowardly, wearing their army uniform and infiltrating the base. And the blowing themselves up. This is the religion they are fighting for? Such a shame. These coward/moron terrorists say that they are fighting for religion, and then kill people while they are praying/attending mosques..!
The IS recently released a video showing two Turkish soldiers being burned alive. The video shows two uniformed men being hauled from a cage before being torched! The video was 19 minute long and was shot in IS-declared Aleppo Province in northern Syria. Before burning, the killer for the two officers verbally attacks Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and calls for destruction to be showed in Turkey.
The video reminds of the killing of Maaz al-Kassasbeh, a Jordanian fighter pilot, who was captured by the jihadists when his plane went down in Syria in December 2014. He was later burned alive in a cage.
The release of the video came after 16 Turkish soldiers were killed by IS fighters, in Ankara’s biggest loss so far in its unprecedented incursion into Syria. The attacks included three suicide car bombings. Read the full article here.
On Sunday, a peaceful Coptic cathedral in Cairo was struck by a bomb blast that killed 25 people. The Islamic state said that it had sent a suicide bomber to the chapel on the grounds of St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox cathedral. This was the deadliest militant attack on Egyptian civilians in years.
The ISIS/ISIL identified the bomber as Abu Abdallah al-Masri. However the egyptian authorities identified the attacker as Mahmoud Shafik Mohamed Mostafa. There was no explanation given for the discrepancy. Mr. Mostafa’s family said that he was jailed and released in 2014, and that was the time when they lost contact with him. It was inferred that he was tortured in jail, which may have led to his radicalization.
The ISIS also suggested that it was prepared to single out Egyptian Christians much as it did minority Shiites in countries like Iraq and Syria. This poses a new challenge for President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who is already confronting the problem of economic crisis. Read the full article here.
Why?! People killing each other, this is insane. Yet another blast in Turkey, outside the Istanbul soccer stadium. 29 people were killed out of which 27 were Police special forces and 2 were civilians. Fortunately most of the fans has already left the stadium after the match was over, and hence there weren’t many civilian casualties. But at least 166 people have been wounded.
The first blast was a car detonation that went off outside the facility known as Besiktas stadium. The second blast was from a suicide bomber a few moment later. The panic and screaming filled the streets and the pavements were littered by broken glasses of nearby buildings.
Turkey has been in a state of emergency following a failed July 15 coup attempt. Turkey is a partner in the US-led coalition against the Islamic State and its armed forces are active in neighboring Syria and Iraq. It is also facing a renewed conflict with an outlawed Kurdish movement in the southeast.
Is there really no solution to all these conflicts? Religion was meant to be a subject of peace and people had the right to choose whichever they wanted. But factions like ISS who kill in the name of God have just put a deep scar on century long religions. Read the full article here!
