Yes. Another US Navy ship, USS John S. McCain, a guided missile destroyer, collided with Alnic MC, a Liberian flagged 183-metre long oil/chemical tanker. However, the ship was not loaded full of oil for cargo, which would have stopped any major incident. The incident happened early morning east of Singapore.

At least 10 sailors are said to be missing, and 5 others have been hurt, according to the Navy’s 7th fleet.

This is the second incident from the Navy’s 7th fleet in just two months, the first one involving the USS Fitzgerald and a container ship that killed 7 sailors in waters off Japan. After the incident, the captain of Fitzgerald was relieved of command, and some sailors were punished due to poor seamanship.

The USS McCain is named for the father and grandfather of US Republican Senator John McCain, who were both admirals in the US Navy.

Please pray for the deceased, and hope for speedy recovery for those injured.

This is astonishing. Two US Navy incidents in just two-three months. According to officials, this is probably due to lack of proper seamanship, as was the case in USS Fitzgerald incident.

This is strange.

A US destroyer ship was severely damaged, and seven of the sailors were missing after a cargo ship hit it at night time about 103 kilometers southwest of Yokosuka, Japan. The mid-right side of the USS Fitzgerald was damaged, while the Phillippine-registered cargo ship ACX reportedly had scratches on the left side of its bow.

After the damage, the USS Fitzgerald had limited propulsion and there was flooding in three compartments. The USS harbors more than 200 crew members, out of which 7 were reported missing and 2 sustained injuries, including the captain.

USS Dewey, medical assistance, Navy tugs and naval aircraft were dispatched to help the crew of the destroyer.

Qatar says that it never doubted US support

#Qatar #MiddleEast #SaudiArabia #military #US #F15 #Boeing #politics

Qatar has made a $12 billion deal with the US to buy F-15 fighter jets mentioning that US and Qatars military are like brothers, and that America’s support for Qatar is deep-rooted. The deal came when Qatar is facing a severe economic and diplomatic crisis because of being boycotted by Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf Arab states.

Qatar hosts a big US military base housing the headquarters of US air forces in the Middle East. The base has as many as 11,000 US personnels.

However a Qatari defence ministry said that the current deal was for 36 jets, considerably reduced from the initial 72 jets with a total value of $21.1 billion that was approved by President Obama in his term. Boeing, the prime contractor, declined to comment on this.

Turkey is currently supplying some of the food imports to Qatar while Kuwait is trying to mediate the dispute between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. There have been questions that if the current situation continues, will Qatar be able to host the 2022 world cup.

It’s surprising that the deal came in such a crucial time when Qatar is facing and economy crisis. Those funds could have been used to help it’s population. Then again, a nation needs to be well defended if it has been boycotted by the neighboring nations. However, I wish Kuwait is able to find a level platform for both countries to talk and make a deal.

The US state department officially named three individuals from different countries as global terrorists, adding them to the US terrorist sanctions list. Mohammad Shafi Armar, Ousamma Ahmad Atar and Mohammed Isa Yousif Saqar Al Binali were named as Specially Designated Global Terrorists.

Armar is a native of Karnataka, India and is the terrorist organization’s chief recruiter in India. He has been blamed for cultivating dozens of IS supporters involved in building the group’s operations in the country.

Atar is a Belgian-Moroccan national and is the one for establishing IS network in Europe, responsible for the November 2015 Paris attacks and is also connected to the March 2016 Brussels attack.

The third person, Binali, is a Bahraini who is known for recruiting Bahrainis to the group and appears in IS promotional videos.

Shooting in GOP Baseball

People haven’t shown there anger for President Trump…until now. James T. Hodgkinson (66), an unemployed home inspector angry with President Trump and his policies, attacked the Republican members of Congress as they held a baseball practice at a park in Alexandria, Virginia. The incident wounded Lawmaker Steve Scalise who got a bullet on his hip.

The gunman, Hodgkinson, had posted anti-Trump posts on his Facebook page, and had even written several letters to his hometown newspaper in which he blamed the Republicans for favoring the wealthy.

However, there were two heroic Police officers, who were wounded during the skirmish, took the gunman down preventing him from entering the field, thereby protecting the congressmen from getting killed. The gunman used a military-style rifle and a handgun to fire more than 50 rounds.

Thanks to the police officers, the gunman was brought down. Such acts of violence shows the impatience and anger in the public, however such incidents aren’t the ways to benefit anyone. Look at it, the gunman was killed and police officers were injured, it didn’t go anywhere. Is it possible to have a solution for such conflicts without using violence?

Trump tweeted about the Dispute in Middle East

#MiddleEast #politics #US #Trump #Qatar #SaudiArabia #international #trade

Countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties with the neighbor Qatar, going as far as ordering its diplomats and citizens to leave and threatening deeply intertwined regional trade links and air routes.

Trump, as he is, tweeted that During my recent trip to the Middle East, I stated that there can no longer be funding of Radical Ideology. Leaders pointed to Qatar – look! In another tweet, he mentioned So good to see the Saudi Arabia visit with the King and 50 countries already paying off. They said they would take a hard line on funding extremism, and all reference was pointing to Qatar.

This comes when US has a base located in Qatar, with as many as 10,000 US personnel there.

Also, during the trip to Middle East last month, it was known that Trump personally met with Qatari emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani, and said, “We are friends. We’ve been friends now for a long time…. Our relationship is extremely good.”

This is embarrassing, even for the United States. US, is considered at the top of the chain, and involving itself in such tweets & criticizing is nothing but degrading to the country’s reputation. Trump should understand that, now he not only the leader of his Trump Organization, but rather a leader for the whole country and it’s people.

Donald Trump tweets about London Mayor Sadiq Khan

#President #US #Trump #London #SadiqKhan #terrorism #politics #twitter

London Mayor, Mr. Sadiq Khan, is one of the most prominent Muslim politicians in Europe, and since the group of terrorists killed seven people on London bridge Saturday night, Trump has kept at his hobby of tweeting about the Mayor and the incident.

According to Trump’s tweet, he mentioned At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terrorist and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’ While on a completely different note, the London Mayor had asked the residents to ‘not be alarmed by an increased police presence in the coming days.’

Such tweets by President Trump comes when London is still struggling to get back on it’s feet after the violent, and horrific terrorist attack on Saturday. Mr. Sadiq Khan also tried to explain that the belief of a few Muslim individuals who plot such devious attacks, is not the same as that of the 1.6 billion Muslims residing in the world or the teachings of Islam.

Mr. Trump acts like a middle school bully, who thrives on speaking about others when he doesn’t get his way (The travel ban that is). Or someone might compare him to an old housewife, who due to a lack of entertainment in his life has taken upon himself to criticize every little information on a certain topic.

Putin is satisfied with Trump’s decision to withdraw from Paris Pact

#Putin #Russia #Trump #President #US #ParisClimatePact #GlobalWarming #ClimateChange #politics

Putin mentioned “Don’t worry, be happy!” on being asked for his reaction on Trumps decision regarding the withdrawal of US from the Paris Climate Pact. Putin might be satisfied with Trump’s decision, considering Russia is the largest crude oil producer and fifth largest greenhouse emitter in the world.

Russia pledged to reduce its carbon emissions by at least 25 percent below 1990 levels by 2030. Under current projections, Russia could step up its carbon emissions and still claim to meet its 2030 goals. There are currently no utility-scale wind turbines or solar farms in Russia.

However, Putin seem to be aware of the man-made carbon emissions and the global warming caused by it, unlike President Trump who still says that global warming is partly an elaborate hoax.

Putin also joked that everyone can blame the Trump administration and American Imperialism for the impacts of global warming.

Well. Russia seems to be satisfied. I wish US can come to terms, and in turn at least launch a campaign to protect its own environment and control its pollution, if it doesn’t feel like helping other countries.

US exit Paris Climate Pact; Asks to reinstate Muslim travel ban

#Trump #US #muslim #ParisClimatePact #ClimateChange #India #China #politics

Trump announced in Thursday that United States will be withdrawing from the Paris Climate Pact. He also mentioned that since the Election Day on November 8th, the US has added $3.3 trillion in stock market to the economy, and had opened up more than a million private sector jobs. He also concluded a military and economic development deal of $350 billion which was finalized during his foreign trip.

Withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord is a necessity for the United States, as the deal works against the US, punishing it for being a developed country. Each year US and several other developed countries have to give $100 billion to developing countries, so that they can counter the climate change threat. And so far, US has given a sum of $1 billion, which is far more than any of the countries.

The Paris Accord can cost US as many as 2.7 million jobs by 2025. It also asks US to reduce coal production by 86 percent or more, and several other industries, which will cost the economy a good $3 trillion in lost GDP and 6.5 million jobs.

Countries like China and India, on the other hand, have free rein and can increase coal usage, with Indian given the authority to ‘double’ its coal production.

On another note, the Trump administration also asked the Supreme Court to reinstate the travel ban on six countries – Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen.

It’s a pretty selfish world from here on. Each country is looking out for themselves first, which isn’t a wrong thing in general. It’s just sad to hear it. And different countries in Paris Climate Pact get different rules & regulations because they are at a different stage of development, with United States considered at the top of the chain. That’s why other countries are allowed to use coal, till they build infrastructure for renewable resources, since it’s cheaper.

Trump might exit Paris Climate Pact

President Trump is still undecided, however it looks like he will be favoring US withdrawal from the Paris Climate agreement. The move will hold his campaign promises of getting back American jobs and America First, however might be a blunder for the US in the international community.

The withdrawal of the United States, the world’s largest economy as of now, from Paris deal will make unwilling nations to back out from the agreement as well.

Surprisingly, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Ivanka Trump, Advisor, are rooting to stay in the Paris deal, but Chief Strategist Stephen Bannon and EPA administrator Scott Pruitt have asked for a withdrawal.

Even CEOs from major organizations such as Apple, ExxonMobil, Tesla, and many more have asked Trump to stay in the agreement.

The final decision will be announced by Trump on Thursday at 3 pm.
